Perfect Game releases top prospects

Kyle Smith of the Amsterdam Mohawks

Perfect Game released its top 25 prospects in the PGCBL on Wednesday.

Kyle Smith (Amsterdam) topped the list, which was voted on by league personnel. Smith struck out 14.055 batters per nine innings—the second-most among relief pitchers—as he was named to the first team All-PGCBL. Smith appeared in 23 games and posted a 1-1 record with five saves, the third-most in the league. In 24.1 innings pitched, the right-hander struck out 38 batters to 12 walks. Opponents hit just .193 against him in the regular season.

A total of 14 of the 25 top prospects were named to either the first or second All-League team, including all but two players from the first team. Six of the 25 players have been drafted by a Major League team at some point in their baseball career.
