DiamondDawgs sign Fort Plain native Marcus Failing

Little Falls, New York – The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are proud to announce that they have signed another local player for the 2015 in left-handed pitcher Marcus Failing.

 

Marcus Failing, a 6’0 190 pound left-handed pitcher starred locally in high school for the Fort Plain Hilltoppers.  Marcus was also an ace for the South Troy Dodgers baseball club leading his club to the Connie Mack World Series finishing fifth.  In his seven starts with the Dodgers, Failing amassed a 6-2 record with a 0.84 ERA striking out 55 batters and allowing six earned runs in 50 innings of work

 

At the collegiate level, Failing pitched for Mohawk Valley Community College where he 5-3 before transferring to Herkimer College. It was recently announced that Marcus signed a national letter of intent to play for the University of Albany baseball program. UAlbany head coach Jon Mueller said in a news release, “Marcus is a fierce competitor and has excelled at many levels. His experience with South Troy…has prepared him for the next level.”

“Marcus is not only a great pitcher but a tremendous athlete…he brings a nice repertoire of pitches and we look forward to seeing what he can do here in Little Falls”, Travis Heiser, Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs owner.
