City of Little Falls Approves Lease For DiamondDawgs Through 2020

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. -- The City of Little Falls Common Council approved a three-year lease with the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs, ensuring the reigning Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) champions can call Veteran’s Memorial Park their home through 2020, as announced by team owner Travis Heiser on Thursday evening.

"This is a great agreement for the City of Little Falls," Mayor Mark Blask said in a team press release. "It's exciting for us. We're continuing our partnership with a championship organization. Travis and the DiamondDawgs are committed to our community for a long period of time and will continue to bring a quality product to our area, while providing affordable family fun to the people of the Mohawk Valley."

“We are proud that Veteran’s Memorial Park will continue to be the home stadium of the DiamondDawgs, a vital part of the Mohawk Valley, drawing fans from near and far and making the residents of the City of Little Falls proud,” Heiser said. “Since I purchased the team, my main goal has been to bring affordable family fun to people of the Mohawk Valley. This agreement ensures our commitment to the area and we look forward to being an active member in the community for many years.”

He added, “The DiamondDawgs and the City of Little Falls have had a tremendous relationship over the years and we look forward to many more great years of DiamondDawgs baseball in the City of Little Falls.”

This past summer, the DiamondDawgs won the PGCBL crown for the second time in the past three seasons. In the offseason, Mohawk Valley Baseball Hall of Famer Cory Haggerty was named the team’s next head coach. In addition, James Hoyt, who suited up for the franchise when it was known as the Little Falls Miners in 2008, won a World Series Championship as a member of the Houston Astros organization.
