Glens Falls Dragons intern makes it to the big leagues

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - Bunta Hasegawa, a 2015 management intern with the Glens Falls Dragons baseball team, is headed to work for a Japanese major league team after winning guest services “MVP of the Year” with the Washington Nationals.

Hasegawa, who stopped for a visit at Glens Falls City Hall last week, has been hired as guest experience manager for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles baseball team of the Pacific League in Japan.

Last season, he worked in guest services with the Nationals, after graduating from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a sports management degree in December 2015.

His 2015 internship with the Dragons included experience at everything from marketing and scheduling to cleaning rest rooms and appearing as Cooper, the team’s mascot.
